Meditation room (Zendo)

Our meditation room, also known as “Zendo”, is a place of silence where people meditate regularly during the courses and in the house community. This room was created with the support of many people and therefore carries an energy of connection and community.

Conditions for the use of the meditation room

  • The meditation room (55 m²) is mainly intended for meditation and silence.
  • The furnishings are kept simple and contain symbols from the Christian and Buddhist traditions.
  • The atmosphere of silence and contemplation should be respected; all activities in the room should correspond to this spirit.
  • Adjustments to the atmosphere are possible.
  • As this is not a multi-purpose room, everything must be returned to its original state after use.
  • Utilization costs:
    • Up to 5 persons:
      • 100 € per day
      • 70 € for use only until midday or only in the afternoon
    • 6-10 persons: 20 € per person
    • More than 10 people: 15 € per person
    • Maximum price: 150 €
  • The price includes access to the grounds and use of the lake for swimming.

The person responsible is liable for any damage.

Accommodation: “Casa Azul” (up to 6 people)

The “Casa Azul ” – the blue house – is a spacious house with three bedrooms, a living room with a Swedish stove, a dining kitchen and a large roof terrace with sea views and a cozy garden. It has two bathrooms with shower/WC and is ideal for groups of up to six people.

  • Living space: approx. 110 m²
  • Rooms: 3 double bedrooms, living room, dining kitchen
  • Number of beds: 6
  • Bathrooms: 2 with shower/WC
  • Kitchen: fully equipped (without dishwasher)
  • Further facilities: large roof terrace, garden, WLAN
  • Not wheelchair accessible

Bed linen available, please bring your own bath towels.

Prices per week (depending on season):

  • November to March: 900 Euro
  • April, May, June, September, October: 1,000 euros
  • July, August: 1’200 Euro
  • Daily rate (minimum 4 nights): 200 Euro

The prices are per apartment, including bed linen, towels and final cleaning.

Accommodation: “Casa Verde” (2-3 persons)

The “Casa Verde ” – the green house – is a converted former stable. The bedroom is located on a mezzanine, while the first floor has a living room with a small kitchen and a bathroom (shower/WC).

Details:

  • Living space: approx. 35 m²
  • Room: Living room with mezzanine sleeping area
  • Number of beds: 2 beds + 1 sofa bed
  • Bathrooms: 1 bathroom with shower/WC
  • Kitchen: 2 hotplates, sink, refrigerator
  • Other facilities: WLAN, not wheelchair accessible
  • Bed linen available, please bring your own bath towels.

Prices per week (depending on season):

  • November to March: 550 Euro
  • April, May, June, September, October: 600 Euro
  • July, August: 700 Euro
  • Daily rate (minimum 3 nights): 125 Euro

Accommodation: “Casa Laranja” (2-3 persons)

The “Casa Laranja ” – the orange house – is another converted farmhouse with a bedroom, a living room (with optional third bed or sofa bed), a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

Details:

  • Living space: approx. 45 m²
  • Rooms: 1 bedroom, living room
  • Number of beds: 2 beds + 1 sofa bed
  • Bathrooms: 1 bathroom with shower/WC
  • Kitchen: fully equipped (without dishwasher)
  • Other facilities: WLAN, not wheelchair accessible
  • Bed linen available, please bring your own bath towels.

Prices per week (depending on season):

  • November to March: 600 Euro
  • April, May, June, September, October: 650
  • July, August: 750 Euro
  • Daily rate (minimum 3 nights): 130 Euro

General information

We would also like to offer people with limited financial means the opportunity to spend a few relaxing days with us. We have set up a donation fund for this purpose. If you would like to use or support this fund, please contact us.

Please use water sparingly, as water is a valuable commodity in southern Portugal. Our property draws its water from its own well and rainwater collection system. In order to maintain the water quality in the swimming pond, we ask all guests to shower briefly before swimming and to refrain from using sunscreen.

Payment and booking information

Payment: The reservation is valid when at least 100 euros or the full course amount has been received as a deposit. Account number see below!The remainder must be paid up to 1 month before the start of the course!

Arrival: Saturdays from 4 pm.
Departure: Saturdays until 10 am.

The two extra single/double rooms with access to shower/WC can be rented by arrangement and subject to availability. Please send inquiries directly to us.
The Zendo (meditation room) is the actual place of silence.It is open to all visitors day and night as a place of meditation and prayer.The interior was donated by students and friends of Marcel!
